![]() Design flaws: head and intake manifold gaskets, egr valve, actual fuel economy 20 highway 16 city and 12 winter, drive shaft carrier bearing that is mia oem but dozens from aftermarket, trans dipstick behind an engine mount, no changeable trans filter, immobilizer and key cylinder issues, dash lights in cluster and climate controls, heat blend door, radio with aux button but no aux port anywhere on car, water pumps are consumables, spare tire well is prone to filling with water, rear seat lever is connected to the cable with brittle plastic, front sub-frame bolts connect in a rust prone way, battery is not accessible for jump starting and designated remote negative is painted metal, rear plastic deck lid/spoiler and tail light has a tendency to snap off in cold weather, no emergency trunk escape, parking break can’t be used at the same time as front cup holders, faulty starters, no changeable fuel filter, faulty coolant level/ temperature sensors/ lack of gauges actually displaying it. There is also some loud crunch-like engagement noises from the rear when AWD coupling engages but nothing that stops its engagement. coolant just loves to clog the heater core so make sure it’s bright orange, and mixed properly. Head gaskets and intake manifold gaskets, did intake manifold gasket and head gasket at 90k miles. I am going to skip the egr and emissions issues, don’t worry about if if it’s not throwing a code. The driveshaft carrier bearing can fail if you live anywhere there is ever salt on the road. Engine, at 90k replaced connecting rod end bearings and mains from bad oil lubrication (don’t use cheap oil, (if the shop can’t name the brand red flag)use penzoil, mobile 1, or other major brand). It has never pulled a trailer or hauled a rediculous weight, it’s first trans service was at 65k and it’s second was at 90k, not a problem since.
